Jay has been President and Chief Executive Officer of BMT since it opened as the successor to his highly successful broadcast management firm, Cavalry Media Services. He is a 30+ year broadcast veteran with experience in every facet of the business, from corporate management to individual and cluster station management and even years as an award winning radio program director and air personality. With involvement or oversight of more than 200 markets, and over 1000 different stations, Jay possesses knowledge and experience nearly unparalleled in the broadcast industry.

In addition to BMT, Jay currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Adelante Media Group, LLC (www.adelantemediagroup.com), a nine market radio and television group serving emerging Hispanic markets.  In 2012, Jay was named “America’s Best Broadcaster” by Radio Ink magazine as CEO of Adelante, and also has been a three time finalist for the magazine’s Hispanic Broadcaster of the Year award.  He also provides outsourced COO services to Horizon Broadcasting, a four market radio group in Florida and Radioactive, LLC, which holds 24 radio licenses in small markets, and outsources as CEO for BCA, a company that operates three Mexican licenses in the San Diego market.  BMT is also active in broadcast Trusts, having been Trustee for Regent Broadcasting earlier in the decade, the largest recent radio industry Trust, as well as Peak Broadcasting.  Jay currently operates the Fort Collins/Lafayette Divestiture Trust.

Prior to the formation of BMTllc, Jay founded Cavalry with four partners and grew it to the industries’ leading consulting and management firm specializing in working with Lenders, Equity Investors and Broadcast Owners. Before that, Jay spent nearly ten years as a Senior Vice President of the legendary Jacor Communications and its successor Clear Channel Communications, where he distinguished himself annually as a top performer and a specialist in troubled and turnaround situations. Before being recruited by his client Jacor, Jay was President/CEO of Jay Meyers and Associates, a company that worked extensively with lenders and equity investors on difficult broadcast situations. During this time he became an experienced Broadcast Receiver and Bankruptcy Trustee (both Chapter 11 and Chapter 7). He was also retained by Bear Stearns as the radio expert for the 1996 purchase of ABC by Disney.

Earlier in his career, Jay served as President/COO of Sherman Broadcasting Corporation, and had prominent positions with broadcast companies Greater Media, Lin Broadcasting, Lincoln Group, Atlantic Ventures and Command Communications. He currently serves on the Board of the Radio Advertising Bureau,  and is a past chairman of the RAB’s Management Leadership Conference.  In addition, he serves on the Board of R Communications, a Texas based Spanish radio and television company and the Board of the legendary WBEB, More 101.1FM Philadelphia.

In addition, he served on the Nielsen Radio Advisory Council and has been involved with numerous NAB planning committees. Along with former Apple and Pepsi CEO John Sculley and football great Dan Marino and others, he serves on the Board of 3Cinteractive, a leading mobile marketing firm. Gerson Lehrman Group, a service used by analysts and investors, recently acknowledged Jay as one of their most requested advisors in the media, broadcast and advertising fields.  Jay graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Mathematics and in 2010, he received the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award from the school’s College of Arts and Sciences.
